If you are looking for a bridge between Nordic and Downhill design, the Madshus Eon Waxable touring ski is the embodiment of efficiency and versatility for off-trail travel. It has a narrower platform, but the added camber tours with ease and provides a snap to your stride. The deeper sidecut in the forebody turns quickly for the occasional descent or rolling terrain, giving the Eon a relaxed, smooth ride. The Eon Wax profile is designed for waxable touring and turning.

Core Material
Multicore: The Eon has a high-durability wood core, using laminated stringers of wood to optimize the camber lifetime of the ski. The Multicore construction gives extra strength and versatility to the ski, and is shaped to fit the ski profile.
Base
PTex 2000 Electra Sintered Racing Base: this method uses polyethylene pellets pressed into a hard block and then cut off into thin strips. This results in a very hard base that is relatively porous and accepts glide wax well, especially after numerous applications. The objective in waxing the sintered racing base is to match the hardness of the wax used with the hardness of the snow.
