



The Duke of Edinburgh's Award program is a direct challenge from Prince Philip to all youth between the ages of 14 to 25. It offers opportunities to youth for broadening interests and experience under adult guidance and assessment through participation in a balanced program of practical, cultural and adventurous activities chosen to suit individual aptitudes and related to local needs and conditions. Participation in the Award program represents a personal commitment to constructive endeavors, promoting qualities of self-discipline, self-help and self-reliance. There are three Awards - Bronze for over the age of 14; Silver for those over 15 and Gold for those over 16 years of age.
Our knowledgeable and experienced guides can take you on a multi-day exploration of majestic Indian Arm. With 150-foot cascading waterfalls, 100 year old hydroelectric stations and aboriginal pictographs dated to over 3000 years old there is lots to see. Learn the skills of navigation and plot your next journey while observing wildlife such as seals, eagles, sea stars and jellies. During your trip you will hear about the local history and camp at various captivating sites. There are three unique locations to camp within this 23km fjord: Twin Islands, Berg's Landing, and Granite Falls.

This program has operated throughout the world since 1956 and in Canada since 1963, It offers opportunities to youth for broadening interests and experience under adult guidance and assessment through participation in a balanced program of practical, cultural and adventurous activities chosen to suit individual aptitudes and related to local needs and conditions. Participation in the Award program represents a personal commitment to constructive endeavors, promoting qualities of self-discipline, self-help and self-reliance. There are three Awards - Bronze for over the age of 14; Silver for those over 15 and Gold for those over 16 years of age. To qualify for an Award a young person must obtain a Record Book and satisfy the requirements of the four sections of the program - SERVICE, ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY, SKILLS AND PHYSICAL RECREATION.
