Up to the Knee Waterproof Launch Sock
The purpose of this launch sock is to keep your feet dry and warm while launching your kayak. I’d imagine that you really want to be using these in the shoulder seasons or through the winter…unless you’re paddling in the arctic circle!
In terms of the construction of the launch sock: the mid-layer has a “micro-porous coating”, which allows water vapor to transfer from the inner layer to the outer. In layman’s terms that means that the fabric is breathable. The inner layer is made of a soft, knit polyester which is also engineered to help manage moisture, moving it from the inside out. In layman’s terms that means that the fabric is breathable! The result is an exceptionally waterproof, breathable launch sock that is an alternative to neoprene that keeps your feet dry and comfortable.
