Rowan grew up kayaking, canoeing and fishing in Deep Cove and Indian Arm. He has worked at "The Kayak Shop" since 1996. At the age of 19 he completed the Canadian Outdoor Leadership Training (COLT) program. COLT was one of the best experiences of his life and led him into a career in the outdoor industry. Rowan believes that kayaking is one of the best ways to experience the ocean environment. Whether it's paddling in shallow water checking out marine life, or surf kayaking in Tofino, he truly feels at home in a boat. Jayne has been paddling in one form or another for many years, but 7 years ago she got into a kayak for the first time and never looked back. Jayne loves the water and has been in it and around it all of her life, teaching and training everything from life guarding to surf rescue to rowing, but there is nothing that gets her stoked like teaching and watching people discover the unbelievable freedom they can find in a kayak.
Jayne has a particular love for the backcountry and getting to the remote places only a kayak can take you. There's nothing like waking up to the mountains reflected on perfectly still water and enjoying that cup of coffee watching the herons find their breakfast.
Kayaking is a true passion for me and I love to ignite that passion in others.

Her favorite time to paddle in the cove is throughout the winter, when there are few people out on the water, the mountains are snowcapped and the air is crisp. Lina loves to race. She has competed internationally as an adventure racer and has paddled in waters surrounding the Queen Charlotte Islands and as far south as the waters near the Southern tip of Chile.
Lina spends most of her time exploring the outdoors and takes great pleasure in inspiring and motivating others to enjoy the outdoors.
